Purpose
The goal is to share some tips and start a reflection about how to create surveys that are easy+quick to fill and provide you with quality data which is easy to analyse.
What makes a good survey ?
In my eyes, a good survey …
- answers your questions
- is easy and quick to fill, so that :
- people answer the questions without trying to speed through them
- you don’t take too much time when you as it to be filled
- is easy to share and to get feedback on
- is easy to analyse
How can we achieve that ?
- make it answer your questions by
- brainstorming what topics you want to know about (eg. how welcomed people felt at an event, the extent to which an intervention was appreciated, etc.)
- reflecting critically about what things are “worth asking” (as in, they would be useful for you to know and the signal you get out of them is likely to be higher than the noise, i.e. the answer does not depend on interpretation : a poor example would be “”)
- easy and quick to fill
